Jack O’ Lantern Cake Pops

This order is for a Halloween party tonight. I created these Jack O’ Lantern cake pops for a festive Halloween look. I used chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. After making the cake balls I dipped them in orange chocolate. The orange chocolate is a vanilla flavor. Immediately, after dipping them I placed a green tic tack on the top for the stem of the pumpkin.

Once the candy shell dries I melted dark chocolate and put it in a disposable piping bag. I then piped on the scary Jack O’ Lantern faces. This combination is supper yummy. I hope they like it at the party!

I will also be making another batch of Halloween cake pops this weekend so I will be sure to post them.

Pink Shimmer Cake

This cake is a pink and white fondant cake. The cake is a vanilla cake with a strawberry filling. I covered the cake with pink fondant. Next, I added a white bow to the cake. After adding the bow I painted it with a pink pearl shimmer. You can paint the shimmer on using lemon extract or vodka. For this cake I used lemon extract. Whichever you choose to use you will not taste it on the cake as it evaporates. It has a really pretty iridescent look to the cake. After, I finished with the painting I added the polka dots to the ribbon strips. The bottom cake board is also covered in white fondant.

I hope you like it. What do you think?

Pumpkin Seeds

Well today we started the process of carving our pumpkin. (I hope it lasts until Halloween) After I washed the outside of the pumpkin we cut open the top. We pulled out all the seeds and the rest of the inside of the pumpkin. I rinsed the seeds in water and then strained them through colander and rinsed again. After this I laid them out on a greased baking sheet. I baked them on 300 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then I took them out.

Next, I mixed 1/2 the seeds with olive oil and ground sea salt. I also wanted a sweet option so I mixed the other 1/2  with vegetable oil, cinnamon, and sugar. Then I returned them to the oven where I baked them another 15 minutes.

They came out great. This is a fun fall snack and activity for you to do when carving your pumpkin.

How do you like to make your pumpkin seeds? How are you going to carve your pumpkin?

Football Cake Pops

These cake pops were made for the Davie Broncos Cheerleading Team. They are made of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The coating is a milk chocolate covering. The piped laces are colored orange and blue chocolate. Orange and blue are the broncos colors. These came out super yummy and delicious. The blocks are covered in a grass like paper to resemble a football field.

I hope they enjoy them!
